3:15-19
-
And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between
thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt
bruise his heel. Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply
thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth
children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall
rule over thee. And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened
unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which
I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is
the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the
days o thy life; Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth
to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field; In the sweat
of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground;
for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust
shalt thou return.

GEN 22:1-24
-
And it came to pass after these things, that God did tempt Abraham,
and said unto him, Abraham: and he said, Behold, here I am. And
he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest,
and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for
a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee
of. And Abraham rose up early in the morning, and saddled his
ass, and took two of his young men with him, and Isaac his son,
and clave the wood for the burnt offering, and rose up, and went
unto the place of which God had told him. Then on the third day
Abraham lifted up his eyes, and saw the place afar off. And Abraham
said unto his young men, Abide ye here with the ass; and I and
the lad will go yonder and worship, and come again to you. And
Abraham took the wood of the burnt offering, and laid it upon
Isaac his son; and he took the fire in his hand, and a knife;
and they went both of them together. And Isaac spake unto Abraham
his father, and said, My father: and he said, Here am I, my son.
And he said, Behold the fire and the wood: but where is the lamb
for a burnt offering? And Abraham said, My son, God will provide
himself a lamb for a burnt offering: so they went both of them
together. And they came to the place which God had told him of;
and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order,
and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood.
And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay
his son. And the angel of the LORD called unto him out of heaven,
and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. And he said,
Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto
him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not
withheld thy son, thine only son from me. And Abraham lifted up
his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a
thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered
him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. And Abraham
called the name of that place Jehovahjireh: as it is said to this
day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen. And the angel
of the LORD called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time,
And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the LORD, for because
thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine
only son: That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying
I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the
sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the
gate of his enemies; And in thy seed shall all the nations of
the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice. So Abraham
returned unto his young men, and they rose up and went together
to Beersheba; and Abraham dwelt at Beersheba. And it came to pass
after these things, that it was told Abraham, saying, Behold,
Milcah, she hath also born children unto thy brother Nahor; Huz
his firstborn, and Buz his brother, and Kemuel the father of Aram,
And Chesed, and Hazo, and Pildash, and Jidlaph, and Bethuel. And
Bethuel begat Rebekah: these eight Milcah did bear to Nahor, Abraham's
brother. And his concubine, whose name was Reumah, she bare also
Tebah, and Gaham, and Thahash, and Maachah.

GEN 23:1-20
-
And Sarah was an hundred and seven and twenty years old: these
were the years of the life of Sarah. And Sarah died in Kirjatharba;
the same is Hebron in the land of Canaan: and Abraham came to
mourn for Sarah, and to weep for her. And Abraham stood up from
before his dead, and spake unto the sons of Heth, saying, I am
a stranger and a sojourner with you: give me a possession of a
buryingplace with you, that I may bury my dead out of my sight.
And the children of Heth answered Abraham, saying unto him, Hear
us, my lord: thou art a mighty prince among us: in the choice
of our sepulchres bury thy dead; none of us shall withhold from
thee his sepulchre, but that thou mayest bury thy dead. And Abraham
stood up, and bowed himself to the people of the land, even to
the children of Heth. And he communed with them, saying, If it
be your mind that I should bury my dead out of my sight; hear
me, and intreat for me to Ephron the son of Zohar, That he may
give me the cave of Machpelah, which he hath, which is in the
end of his field; for as much money as it is worth he shall give
it me for a possession of a buryingplace amongst you. And Ephron
dwelt among the children of Heth: and Ephron the Hittite answered
Abraham in the audience of the children of Heth, even of all that
went in at the gate of his city, saying, Nay, my lord, hear me:
the field give I thee, and the cave that is therein, I give it
thee; in the presence of the sons of my people give I it thee:
bury thy dead. And Abraham bowed down himself before the people
of the land. And he spake unto Ephron in the audience of the people
of the land, saying, But if thou wilt give it, I pray thee, hear
me: I will give thee money for the field; take it of me, and I
will bury my dead there. And Ephron answered Abraham, saying unto
him, My lord, hearken unto me: the land is worth four hundred
shekels of silver; what is that betwixt me and thee? bury therefore
thy dead. And Abraham hearkened unto Ephron; and Abraham weighed
to Ephron the silver, which he had named in the audience of the
sons of Heth, four hundred shekels of silver, current money with
the merchant. And the field of Ephron which was in Machpelah,
which was before Mamre, the field, and the cave which was therein,
and all the trees that were in the field, that were in all the
borders round about, were made sure Unto Abraham for a possession
in the presence of the children of Heth, before all that went
in at the gate of his city. And after this, Abraham buried Sarah
his wife in the cave of the field of Machpelah before Mamre: the
same is Hebron in the land of Canaan. And the field, and the cave
that is therein, were made sure unto Abraham for a possession
of a buryingplace by the sons of Heth.

2CO 1:9
-
But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should
not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:
-
ROM 7:24
-
O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of
this death?
-
2CO 5:2-4
-
For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with
our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we
shall not be found naked. For we that are in this tabernacle do
groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but
clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
-
ROM 7:18-23
-
For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good
thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that
which is good I find not. For the good that I would I do not:
but the evil which I would not, that I do. Now if I do that I
would not, it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in
me. I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present
with me. For I delight in the law of God after the inward man:
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of
my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which
is in my members.
-
GAL 5:16-17
-
This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the
lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth against the Spirit, and
the Spirit against the flesh: and these are contrary the one to
the other: so that ye cannot do the things that ye would.
-
ROM 6:12
-
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should
obey it in the lusts thereof.

ROM 7:21
-
I find then a law, that, when I would do good, evil is present
with me.

JOH 3:6
-
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born
of the Spirit is spirit.

ROM 5:12
-
Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death
by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ shall all be made alive.

Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive
me.
